As an amateur photographer I often feel the need to widen and improve my technique not only by reading photography related books but also by interacting with real teachers and classmates.
As an amateur photographer I know what my major drawbacks are, that is, I’d really like to use PS layers more effectively, or start shooting portraits.
Where I live, here in Italy, there are no such classes. You can enroll in courses held by specialized schools in Milan or Rome but they are costly and lengthy. So I thought I could attend an online course as soon as I’ll have the money - I’m on a really tough budget for now…
Here are a few websites I’ve taken into consideration:
Betterphoto.com - They offer 4 and 8 weeks courses on many interesting subjects. Teachers are all professionals like Jim Zuckerman or George Schaub, Editorial Director of Shutterbug and eDigitalPhoto magazines.
You can even get what they call ClassTracks to master photography over the course of one full year.
The Perfect Picture School of Photography - Photographer Bryan Peterson is the founder of the school and author of such best selling books as Understanding Exposure, Beyond Portraiture: Creative People Photography, and Learning to See Creatively.
Courses are held by professionals in a wide range of topics and last from 4 to 8 weeks.
Apogee Photo Magazine Online Photography Classes - Courses are held by professionals like Michael Fulks, Noella Ballenger, Mike Goldstein, and others. They range from beginner level to intermediate/advanced.
And here is a review of Betterphoto.com and the Perfect Picture School of Photography.
If someone has attended any of these online courses or a different one, please add your opinions in the comments. Thank you!
